Pour le mariage d’un couple d’amis, je me suis remise à la broderie! En effet, ils m’ont confié la création d’un porte alliances pour le jour J, mission acceptée avec grand plaisir! L’occasion de redécouvrir le potentiel détente de la broderie (et de passer pour une mamie dans l’avion des vacances aussi!).
Voici donc le résultat d’une improvisation préméditée. J’ai décalqué le faire-part de mariage pour en récupérer la police. Puis j’ai reporté mon calque sur du papier millimétré afin d’obtenir une grille. La suite est très simple: un petit carreau, un point! Une aiguille, de la toile à broder de lin, un écheveau….et roule brode ma poule !
Pour le montage, rien de très compliqué: j’ai simplement tendu ma broderie dans un tambour à broder et cousu un cordon en Liberty (dans le tissu du mariage) pour fixer les alliances.

Friends of mine got married and asked me to make them a ring holder for their big day. A mission I accepted with great pleasure and that gave me the opportunity to go back to cross stitch! I re-discovered how relaxing cross stitching can actually be (and also collected surprised looks on the plane as I was stitching).
So, here is the result of some kind of premeditated improvisation! First, I traced their names from the invitation and copied them on graph paper. This way, I obtained a grid: each full square would be a stitch! A stitching needle, a piece of linen, embroidery floss…and let’s go!
I then tightened my embroidery into a hoop and sewed a Liberty cord (which was the same fabric as used for the wedding’s decoration) to fasten both wedding rings.
